The transistor is the most important part of the logic chip. It stops electrons or lets them through. You can compare it to a barrier.
There are different types of transistors but the transistor that is the most popular today is theMOSFET. This stands for Metal-

Transistor.

The electrons flow from the source to the drain. If the gate is not controlled, no electrons will flow.

Electric current flows from a high electric potential (+) to a low electric potential (-). Electrons move in the opposite direction. The
electrons move from source to drain, but the current moves from drain to source.
