A chip is a very complex electronic component but it doesn’t look so special to the naked eye.

When you open an electronic device, you will find a green plate with all kinds of small pieces of metal and the like on it. This green plate is called a circuit board and is used for all kinds of electronic applications. When you hear computer specialists talking about your computer’s motherboard, for example, they are talking about this green plate.
